On the
16-th and 17-th of September, 2005 a
tour workshop was organized in Ohrid,
Macedonia. Representatives from the
Hotel Associations of Macedonia,
Albania, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and
Herzegovina and Montenegro were at the
meeting. The kind hosts from the
Macedonian Hotel Association carried
out a contact-exchange, a meeting for
the establishment of a Balkan Alliance
of the Hotelier Associations and
visits to cultural and historical
sites. The participants came prepared
with their printed materials,
advertisements and offers, which were
distributed during the
contact-exchange event.
The Balkan
Alliance of Hotel Associations- BAHA,
officially starts functioning on the
1st of January 2006. On the 17th of
September, 2005 in Ohrid, Macedonia,
the constituent assembly protocol of
BAHA was signed by Bulgaria,
Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Albania, Montenegro and Romania. The
organization will be joined by the
remaining countries which have
confirmed their participation- Turkey,
Greece and Croatia, later in Sofia, as
they could not attend the meeting in
Ohrid.
The organization is non-government and
non-political, managed by a Board of
Directors, that consists of the
presidents of all participating
organizations. Officially the Balkan
Alliance starts its activities on the
1-st of January 2006 and the first
leadership will be taken by Bulgaria.
