 Association
of hotels and restaurants was
established in April, 1967, and its
original name was "Ugoturist", but
1968 it changed its name to
"Ugoprogres" and operated under that
name by the mid of 2002.
Since May 2002, the Association has
been operating as the Business
Asssociation of Hotels and
Restaurants - "HORES".
The
"HORES" - as the representative
association - takes part in
preparation and conclusion of the
Special Collective Agreement for the
catering and tourism activities,
with the rerpresentative trade
unions, and keeps tracks of its
performance and effect on the
operation.
At
the begining of 2003, the
Association joined the Employers
Union, as a collective member,
whereby it became the authorized
representative in the operation of
the Social - Economic Committee of
the Serbian Government.
At
the begining of 2004, the
Cooperation Agreement between the
Association of Industrialists and
Entrepreneurs of Serbia and
Montenegro.
The Association has 200 members,
opposed to original 15. It has more
than 180 hotels, motels and other
facilities in its structure, which
is more than 85% of the total
accommodation facilities and more
than 2000 catering facilities.
Important suppliers of the catering
and tourist industry are the part of
the Association, as well as the
number of catering companiies from
Montenegro.
The
Agreement on the Mutual Associate
Membership to the Associaton of the
Tour Operators (YUTA) and Business
Association of the Catering Industry
"HORES" as of 2002. All the members
of the Association of the Tour
Operators (about 350) of the "YUTA"
are associate members of our
Association and vice versa, which
gives even more importance and new
quality to these associations, for
the purpose of accomplishment of the
interests of the industry.
The
Asssociation of Private Catering
Businesses of Belgrade has more than
300 members, and is the part of the
"HORES".
The
main activity of the Association is:

Monitoring ana rewieving
the economic situation and
ongoing problems of the catering
and tourist industry, and taking
initiatives with the competent
government bodies and
institutions,
-
Proposing the measures
for improvement of the businiess
activity conditions and more
adequate treatment of this
industry in the economic system,
-
Informing the businesses
of the industry of the proposed
measures,
-
Informing and providing
technical support to the
businesses of the industry and
interpretation of regulations of
importance for this industry,
mainly from privatization, tax,
foreign-exchange, foreign trade
and credit sector,
-
Monitoring of the
state-of-the-art trends of
the catering and tourist
industry, through the exchange
of technical staff, their
education, and cooperation with
simalar institutions of the
developed toursit countries,
-
Joining this industry
with technical, scientific and
educational institutions for the
purpose of improvement of
knowledge, training and
education of the staff, for the
purpose of implementation of the
techincal and scientific work
results, and incresing the
technical knowledge of the staff
of the industry,
-
Imporvement of standards and
legislations in accordance
with the regulations on
categorization, for the purpose
of improvement of the quality
level of the catering and
tourist services,
-
Joining the catering and
tourism, with the activities
complementary to this industry,
-
Organizing the mutual
presentations at the local
and foreign tourst fairs.
The
above said activities of the
Association are accomplished through
the association body - Assembley,
Board of Directors, operational
bodies and Technical Department.
